For its part, the House voted against the two-month extension on Tuesday, drawing fire from both Democrats and Senate Republicans, 39 of which voted in favor of the short-term extension. “We’ve done our job, all we need now is to resolve our differences,” said House Speaker John Boehner after the vote, going on to urge President Obama to recall the Senate to work out a one-year extension.
