On Thursday, President Obama will celebrate his 50th birthday and, like any good politician, he’ll try to benefit from the milestone. His preparty plans started at Spike Mendelsohn’s Good Stuff Eatery on Wednesday afternoon, where he stopped for a quick lunch with staff members who worked on the debt negotiations. The president ordered a burger, fries and a salad. He then headed to Chicago for two Democratic National Committee fundraisers which happen to coincide with his birthday.
So how much does it cost to celebrate the president’s birthday with him? Up to $35,800 for some guests who attended the fundraiser at the Aragon Entertainment Center in Chi-town on Wednesday night. That ticket included dinner and a concert by Jennifer Hudson, Herbie Hancock and OK Go. The second, smaller soiree was only for about 100 guests.
The birthday boy will have a private party back home in the Rose Garden on Thursday.
