Sixteen Republican presidential candidates will gather for their second debate Wednesday night at the Reagan Library in Sime Valley, Calif., a place that Reagan hoped would become a “dynamic intellectual forum” when he opened it in 1991.
Reagan said he wanted his library to be a place where “policy makers debate the future.” His desire was for his library to be a venue for every day Americans and non-academics to explore their past and a history that is “not often learned in schools.”
