A super PAC has decided to help Hillary Clinton connect with average voters by embarking on a million dollar project to display a personal touch rarely seen on the campaign trail.
The Clinton super PAC Correct the Record created the project “Lets Talk Hillary” to “share stories from those who know Clinton personally and have been impacted by her work.” Rather than showcasing supporters along the trail, Lets Talk Hillary displays longtime Clinton friends.
The effort launched Monday with the first of a series of biographical videos, featuring friends who knew her well from her days at the first lady of Arkansas. In the video, Clinton is described as a lifetime advocate for children, education, healthcare and women’s rights.
“I have known Hillary Clinton for most of my life, she knew me before I knew myself” Dr. Creshelle Nash, a supporter from North Little Rock Arkansas says. “And the things I am interested in now and the advocacy that I do is directly built upon the things that Hillary was able to do in Arkansas.”
According to reports, the PAC has poured nearly $1 million into this endeavor. One of Clinton’s greatest struggles on the trail has been for her to convey an “authentic” image to voters. The Clinton campaign has pushed the candidate to appear less scripted and more humorous. If successful, the Correct the Record project will introduce voters “to Hillary as a friend, mom, mentor, colleague, activist, public servant, and woman of faith.”
