Speakeasy: Wayne Newton talks politics

“I wish there was someone that I could call. I wish that we could reincarnate Ronald Reagan – for example – to step up now. Because he was a man who believed in what he said and acted upon it.”

Singing legend Wayne Newton, talking to CNN’s John King about his lack of enthusiasm for the current GOP field. Though he confirmed that he will definitely not vote for President Obama, Newton said he had not decided which candidate he would support, if any. “I’m looking for someone who has the power of his convictions, who is not looking to some very special interest group, who is not looking to the hispanics, the blacks, the whites, the reds. I’m looking for a man who’s interested in the people of the United States,” he said, “because … that is the one piece all the politicians are missing today.”
