Florida Gov. Rick Scott likely won’t visit a Starbucks in Central Florida again.
In a now-viral video captured by YouTube user Stephen Bender in downtown Gainesville Tuesday, a woman gives the Republican governor a verbal beatdown.
“You cut Medicaid, so I couldn’t get Obamacare,” the woman, identified by ABC Action News as Cara Jennings, yelled. “You don’t care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.”
She also called the two-term governor an “a—hole.”
Scott responded to Jennings by saying he’s created a million jobs.
“A million jobs? Great, who here has a great job?” she responded. “Or is looking forward to finishing school? Do you really feel like you have a job coming up?”
Scott shot back, “You should …” before Jennings yells again, saying he “stripped woman of access to public healthcare.”
As Scott walks away from the Starbucks, empty handed, Jennings can be heard yelling: “Shame on you Rick Scott. We depend on those services. Rich people like you don’t know what to do, when poorer people like us need health services you cut them. Shame on you Rick Scott! You’re an embarrassment to our state!”
Scott leaves the store by mumbling something in response, something along the lines of, “Tell the truth.”
Jennings, a 39-year-old stay-at-home-mother from Lake Worth, told “ABC Action News” she was just working on her laptop when she noticed the Florida governor enter the Starbucks and recognized him from his profile.
She said she was upset about a recent bill signed by Scott that cuts funding toward Planned Parenthood clinics in Florida.
“A number of people came up to me and thanked me,” she said.
