Comedian Jon Stewart ripped into MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on the “Daily Show” Tuesday, making fun of O’Donnell’s reaction when his guest — attorney Craig Sonner, who is defending George Zimmerman — cancelled his Monday appearance on “The Last Word,” leaving the studio just minutes before the interview. As his guest had fled the scene, O’Donnell decided to pose his questions to an empty chair, so Stewart joked, “You know, I live in the New York City, I see a lot of people yelling at chairs. None of them have TV shows!” Stewart added that “after watching this for like 10 minutes … I started feeling badly for the chair,” so he offered his own answer to the scene with a segment where he interviewed the “chair’s lawyer,” an oscillating fan. After cracking up in the middle of the segment, Stewart said that the alternate version was even dumber. “The other premise was simply that Zimmerman’s lawyer was there the whole time, he’s just very, very tiny!” he said, laughing.
