CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney wrapped up a campaign swing through Ohio with a high-end fundraising event.
About 200 people attended the event Wednesday evening at a country club near Canton. Prices for the reception, photo session and dinner ranged from $2,500 to $50,000.
Romney repeated his recent campaign theme that President Barack Obama doesn’t understand how the U.S. economy works. He says Obama has attacked success.
Earlier in Bowling Green, Romney brushed aside more calls for the release of his tax returns and instead accused Obama of protecting his job at the expense of millions of unemployed Americans.
In Washington, Obama met with 25 supporters at the upscale Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Tickets started at $60,000 per person.
