Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, endorsed by more than 100 current members of Congress and senators, had one lawmaker come to her defense late Wednesday after Bernie Sanders said she was “unqualified” to run for president.
California Sen. Barbara Boxer took to Twitter to defend the former secretary of state from the Vermont senator’s attack.
“Bernie’s attack on @HillaryClinton tonight was beneath him. She is the most qualified person to ever run for POTUS,” Boxer wrote.

Sanders, who trails Clinton in national polls and delegate counts, went after her during a Wednesday rally in Philadelphia, Penn.
“[Clinton] has been saying lately that she thinks that I am, quote unquote, not qualified to be president. Let me just say in response to Secretary Clinton: I don’t believe that she is qualified if she is, through her super PAC, taking tens of millions of dollars in special interest funds. I don’t think you are qualified if you get $15 million from Wall Street through your super PAC,” Sanders said, going on to list a number of reasons he believed she was not fit for the Oval Office.
