Rubio wins Washington

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio won the District of Columbia’s Republican convention Saturday, capturing 10 of Washington’s delegates.

The win is Rubio’s third of the primary season. He won in Minnesota and Puerto Rico. He faces a critical primary Tuesday in his home state of Florida, where he trails businessman Donald Trump in polls.

Rubio will receive 10 delegates. Ohio Gov. John Kasich will receive nine. Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz receive zero delegates.

Rubio won 37 percent of votes. Kasich captured about 36 percent. Trump was third with just under 14 percent. Cruz won about 12 percent. Three candidates who have dropped out of the race won votes. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush won 14 votes for just under .50 percent of votes. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., won 12 votes. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson won three votes.
