Joni Ernst up 7 points in new Iowa poll

Joni Ernst leads Democrat Rep. Bruce Braley by seven points in a new Iowa poll.

The Republican Senate candidate has 51 percent support among likely voters to Braley’s 44, and J. Ann Selzer, who conducted the poll for the Des Moines Register, said Saturday that “this race looks like it’s been decided.”

An October poll showed Ernst with 47 percent to Braley’s 46 percent. To compound the problem, Braley is now losing his home Congressional District by three points. He led by a point last month.

The poll was conducted with 701 likely Iowa voters between Oct. 28-31, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

Ernst now leads by nearly two points in the RealClearPolitics polling average.
