Sanders: Trump not telling the truth

Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders denied claims Sunday that his campaign had anything to do with stopping Donald Trump’s rally in Chicago Friday night.

“Trump is not telling the truth,” Sen. Sanders said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “It shouldn’t surprise anybody. He very rarely tells the truth. When he says that our campaign disrupted his meeting, it was not our campaign.”

“People have the right to protest,” he added. “I do not like people disrupting anybody’s meeting and I would hope that my supporters would not disrupt meetings.”

Sanders and Trump exchanged shots from afar over the issue Saturday with the Vermont senator calling Trump a “pathological liar.”

“Protest is one thing,” Sanders said. “To disrupt is something else.”
