Christie on guns: Obama is a ‘petulant child’

Chris Christie laid into President Obama Sunday for his plan to announce new executive actions on guns this week.

“This president is a petulant child,” Christie told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.”

“Whenever he can’t get what he wants — quite frankly, the American people have rejected his agenda by turning both the House and the Senate over to the Republicans,” Christie said.

“Now this president wants to act as if he’s a king,” Christie said. “As if he’s a dictator.”

“This is going to be another illegal executive action, which I’m sure will be rejected by the courts,” Christie said.

Christie’s attack marks a shift for the New Jersey governor, who famously embraced President Obama in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, days before the 2012 election. That move that was derided by many conservatives.

Host Wallace at one point even seemed to compliment Christie.

“I got to say, you’re in mid-season form,” Wallace said, making a sports analogy that Christie seems to be on target and hitting his stride just in time.

“Thank you, my friend,” Christie said.
