Trump floats sending ‘disruptors’ to Sanders rallies

Donald Trump seemed to threaten Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on Sunday, warning he might send his supporters to disrupt the Democratic candidate’s rallies.

“Bernie Sanders is lying when he says his disruptors aren’t told to go to my events,” Trump tweeted. “Be careful Bernie, or my supporters will go to yours!”

Trump says he would be responding to what he claims is the Sanders campaign sending protestors disrupt his rallies, including Trump’s Friday night event, which the billionaire canceled. Sanders said Saturday that Trump’s claim is false and part of a pattern of “pathological” lying by the candidate. Sanders said Trump bears responsiblity for violence at his rallies.

Trump has generally been less critical Sanders than Hillary Clinton. Trump calls Sanders a communist, but credits Sanders for the excitement he has engendered and for having the second-largest crowds next to him. Both men work to appeal to economically struggling blue-collar voters.
