Love, Actually: Virginia burbs more romantic than D.C.

Sorry, Washington, Dr. Ruth may be your secretary of love and relationships, but it’s neighboring Alexandria that’s being called the most romantic city in the country.

The folks at Amazon.com looked at the Web site’s sales data from 2010 for an assortment of romantic products — including romance novels, romantic movies and Barry White CDs — and found residents of Alexandria bought the most.

Neighboring Arlington came in at No. 7. And D.C.? On Amazon’s list, released Tuesday, the District ranked No. 11, after cities like Pittsburgh and Ann Arbor, Mich.
