Indigo Girls praise Obama, Gaga

During the Indigo Girls’ sold-out concert at the Birchmere in Alexandria on Monday, Grammy Award-winning singers Amy Ray and Emily Saliers sang President Obama’s praises.

Before performing a political song, “Let It Be Me,” Saliers told the audience, “I wrote this when President Bush was in office, but I changed a line in it now that I have a president that I like in office.”

After the show, Saliers told Yeas & Nays she also thinks Lady Gaga is great and supports her standing up against “don’t ask, don’t tell.”
