Trump: ‘I was very unhappy with the Bush years’

Donald Trump on Wednesday lashed out at the last Republican to hold the White House, and said the George W. Bush administration was the point at which America needed to be made great again.

“I was very unhappy with the Bush years,” Trump said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “I was very unhappy when Bush went into Iraq.”

Trump has continued to attack his fellow Republicans, which has only seemed to make him stronger in the polls. He has recently taken on Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, by questioning whether Cruz’s birth in Canada makes him a viable candidate.

Trump declined to pile on against Cruz Wednesday on MSNBC.

Trump also brushed off questions about a video clip used in his first political ad, which purported to show the U.S.-Mexico border but actually showed Moroccan migrants crossing the border into Spain.

“It was just footage,” Trump said. “As far as I’m concerned, when you look at it, the United States is becoming a dumping ground. This country has become a dumping ground for everybody.”

He also repeated his promise to force Mexico into paying for a wall along the southern border, accusing Cruz of lacking the ability to build such a wall.

“The other day, I was watching Ted, actually, and he mentioned a wall,” Trump said. “The problem is, I know how to build a wall. Nobody else knows.”
