Carson Daly and Christmas tree crew help National Parks

This year’s group of National Christmas Tree Lighting performers, who were in town last week for the event, left behind some souvenirs to give the National Park Foundation some holiday dollars.

The event’s emcee, Carson Daly, along with performers OneRepublic, Ellie Goulding, Big Time Rush, Marsha Ambrosius and Rodney Atkins all signed Christmas ornaments that are being auctioned off to raise money for the Foundation, which acts as the official charity of the National Parks. (It’s our understanding that performer Kermit the Frog didn’t sign one because being a Muppet makes it difficult to maneuver a Sharpie).

Bids for the ornaments are starting at $100 and the auction is being conducted online on eBay. The actual ornaments are on display in the “living room” at the W Hotel in downtown D.C. Designed by the folks at Tiny Jewel Box located on Connecticut Ave., they show a vintage photo of the National Christmas Tree with the Washington Monument in the background.

The auction and holiday display go on through Monday, Dec. 12.
