We spotted actor Zach Braff at the bar at the IMPACT Dinner Celebrating Funny or Die on Wednesday night, waving away handlers who wanted him to go say hello to actress Jessica Alba. Braff wanted to get a beer first, sending back a lukewarm Blue Moon, finally settling on an IPA.
During his wait at the bar he told us that despite his role in “Scrubs,” health care wasn’t his biggest issue. “I’m very passionate about gay civil rights and women’s issues and I feel like the Romney ticket is so completely in a different direction then the way I would like to see this country go for my kids, for my one-day children, that I felt like I had to take action and get out there,” Braff said. The Jersey native will be campaigning for President Obama in Colorado and also in Las Vegas, he said. “Anytime the president calls and asks you to go to Vegas you say yes,” he said. “I think he speaks to young people and I like to think of myself still as a young person even though I’m getting on the border of not being able to say that,” he added.
Braff and Alba both attended the party with their significant others, Taylor Bagley and Warren Cash, respectively. Also in the crowd was “Mad Men’s” Alexis Bledel and “Hunger Games'” Elizabeth Banks.
