Speakeasy: Cornyn blasts Obama for campaign-style chiding

“This is a grand opportunity for Democrats and Republicans to come together to do the nation’s business – to be serious, not to be reckless … I respect the office of the President of the United States, but I think the president has diminished that office and himself by giving the kind of campaign speeches he gave yesterday.”

– Sen. John Cornyn, R-Tex., blasting President Obama Thursday for comments during his Wednesday press conference, wherein he criticized Congress for their work ethic, and demanded they step up their negotiations to increase the debt ceiling and cut spending.
