Bush’s legacy may improve with time

President Bush always says that he thinks (or at least hopes) that history will judge his administration well…or at least more positively than current approval ratings suggest. And, if a new CNN/Opinion Research Poll is any indication, he may be on to something.

The poll found out that, given hindsight, the majority of Americans fondly recall the presidencies of Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter. When asked whether they “approve or disapprove of the way each of the following handled their job as president”, 69% approved of Clinton, 60% approved of Bush 41 and 64% approved of Carter’s performance.
