Ohio Gov. John Kasich doesn’t like to think of himself as an establishment Republican, and responded defensively when Fox News’ The Five host Juan Williams questioned whether voters would turn to a candidate “seen as establishment.”
“It’s pretty hard to label me as establishment figure cause I’ve always fought the establishment. Here’s what some people say, ‘Well, Trump says all the things I wish I could say and I can’t.’ Well, let me say if we’re a country that is devolving into name calling and insulting, we got bigger problems than who we’re gonna elect for president,” said Kasich, currently ranked seventh in the Washington Examiner’s presidential power rankings.
Kasich added that his being “very hard to label” would make him a good choice by Republicans for someone who could rally both sides of the GOP and beat Democrat Hillary Clinton.
