The State Department is trying to locate three American citizens feared kidnapped in Iraq, according to reports Sunday.
“We are aware of reports that American citizens are missing in Iraq,” a State Department official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Reuters Sunday. “We are working with the full cooperation of the Iraqi authorities to locate and recover the individuals.”
The pan-Arab news station Arabiya, a channel associated with Saudi government, reported Sunday that three U.S. citizens had been kidnapped in Baghdad. The identities and occupations of the Americans were not immediately known.
