Obamas, Bidens release holiday playlists on Spotify

The White House released two Christmas-themed playlists on Spotify Wednesday, compiled by the Obamas and the Bidens, just in time for the holidays.

“Holidays with the Obamas,” curated by President Obama and Michelle Obama, starts off with “O Tannenbaum” from “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” moves on to “Let it Snow” by Boyz II Men and ends with Whitney Houston’s rendition of “Little Drummer Boy.” The 14-song playlist also comprise songs from Frank Sinatra, The Jackson 5 and Nat King Cole.

The “Holidays with the Bidens” playlist, compiled by Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill, has a mix of artists ranging from Bruce Springsteen to Neil Diamond, Coldplay to Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett.

The vice president tweeted, “Alright, the Celtic carol is mine. And a few others. (cc: @LadyGaga),” referring to the Wexford Carol by Govannen.

In August, the White House released two summer songs playlists compiled by Obama. “On Spotify, you can expect to see the White House share playlists created by people in the White House, as well as playlists curated around events and issues to engage the public,” the White House said.
