Laura Bush talks about World Series

Joining a gracious crowd at the Lesher Center in California for the Newsmaker speaker series on Monday, former first lady Laura Bush fielded her final question about the Rangers losing the World Series. “George and I are still in mourning, but maybe one more time,” she said, going on to liken the Rangers’ loss to her own philosophy about overcoming defeat, adding, “The challenge to all Americans is to get on a personal mound and [to ensure democracy,] face failure, humiliation, or even mortal danger.”
