Heating and cooling industry lures staffers with cake

For the second year in the row, the folks from the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industries used the promise of food to attract Hill staffers to an industry event. On Wednesday night, more than 200 Hill staffers shuffled into the Rayburn Building’s foyer to taste cake from Carlo’s Bakery, the Hoboken, N.J., bake shop made famous on TLC’s “Cake Boss.” But like last year this wasn’t just your average sheet cake. This year’s cake showed HVACR products being built at a factory and then delivered to a home. Who knew a water heater could be so delicious?
