Jeb Bush guarantees victory in N.H. as poll numbers fall

Jeb Bush guaranteed victory in New Hampshire’s first in the nation primary. Despite tanking poll numbers, the governor told WMUR he remains confident he can win.

“I’m going to win it,” Bush said.

“Is it a must-win for you?” asked WMUR’s John DiStaso.

“Oh, I’m going to win it,” Bush repeated. “I honestly believe I’m going to win New Hampshire.”

Bush’s chances of winning anything have sunk fast. He led polling of New Hampshire in June, but now finishes fifth in RealClearPolitics’ average of statewide surveys. The former Florida governor is currently eighth in the Washington Examiner‘s presidential power rankings.

As his poll numbers have begun to slide nationwide, the governor has made substantial financial cuts and embarked on a “Jeb Can Fix it” bus tour of the Granite State.

He’s taken his tie off, rolled up his sleeves, and begun using the word “damn” more frequently in his stump speeches. Whether any of the changes will make any difference remains to be seen.
