Iowa Dems open probe into caucus results

An official in the Iowa Democratic Party said the organization will investigate a number of discrepancies in its caucus results, despite comments earlier this week that Monday’s results would not be reviewed.

“Both the Sanders and Clinton campaigns have flagged a very small number of concerns for us, and we are looking at them all on a case-by-case basis,” Iowa Democratic Party spokesman Sam Lau said.

Hillary Clinton’s slim victory over Bernie Sanders left supporters of the Vermont senator asking for a recount. The former secretary of state has defended her win throughout the week, but the new investigation puts some doubt on her success.

Matt Paul, Clinton’s Iowa sate director, published a response to the news, defending Clinton’s victory despite the new probe.
