‘MO’ jumps on the Twitter bandwagon

In efforts to drum up more social media for the 2012 presidential campaign, President Obama’s campaign staff created a Twitter account for first lady Michelle Obama. The account @MichelleObama — which was activated on Thursday morning — had already gained 150,000 followers by the afternoon. The feed will be managed by campaign staffers, according to a tweet from the handle. Tweets coming directly from the first lady herself will be signed “-mo.” Her first tweet read “Hi, everyone, and thanks for the warm welcome. Look forward to staying in touch with you here. -mo.”
