ABC covers ‘March for Life’ after push from Trump

ABC’s “Good Morning America” didn’t cover the big “March for Life” anti-abortion protest in Washington last year, but it decided to this year, after a very public push from President Trump.

In an interview with ABC News anchor David Muir that aired Wednesday, Trump said that the annual march is ignored by the news media. “They say the press doesn’t cover them,” he said.

The conservative Media Research Center has monitored media coverage for years and noted that the march is often either ignored by network news and national papers, or receives minimal coverage compared to other events, even though the march is attended by thousands.

MRC said the march was not covered by ABC at all in 2016, but Friday on “Good Morning America,” the show gave about 2 minutes of coverage to the event.

One difference this year, aside from Trump noting that the march is not covered, is that some high profile figures from the new administration are attending the march. Vice President Mike Pence and White House adviser Kellyanne Conway are set to speak at the event.
