Ivanka Trump: My father is a feminist

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, told the U.K.’s Sunday Times Magazine that her father is a feminist and “it’s a big reason I am the woman I am today.”

Ivanka Trump, 34, is Trump’s daughter from his first marriage and an executive vice president within the Trump empire. Trump has said that if he wins the White House, he will turn over his businesses enterprises to her and to his sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr.

Ivanka Trump argued that her father’s willingness to put her in charge of his business empire was proof that he views the sexes equally.

“People talk about gender equality. He has lived it, he has employed women at the highest levels of the Trump organization for decades, so I think it’s a great testament to how capable he thinks women are and has shown that his whole life,” she said. “He always told me and showed me that I could do anything I set my mind to if I married vision and passion with work ethic. He’s also surrounded me with strong female role models who have done just that since I was a little girl.”
