Former GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s son Eric is featured in a Q& A about their new Virginia wine venture, Trump Winery, in the new Official Virginia Wine Lover e-newsletter. If you recall, Trump had a private reception and press conference back in October which was attended by Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, Virginia Secretary of Agriculture Todd Haymore and Eric, who is president of the winery. Since then, Eric tells Official Virginia Wine Lover, the father and son team have been busy transforming and reinventing the former Kluge Estate. “Immediately after purchasing the winery, we began by completely remodeling the Tasting Room and the Pavilion. The Tasting Room, which has some 40,000 visitors per year, has been extensively redone and features incredible outdoor space where guests can drink wine, sample local cheeses and learn the intricacies of the wines that we produce on site. The Pavilion is now a grand, elegant event space with a full back terrace overlooking the vineyard. Currently we are creating the Carriage Museum, which once housed the most exclusive collection of carriages anywhere in the world, and will be the most beautiful banquet space in Virginia.”
In addition to keeping many different blends of Kluge Wines, Eric says, they plan to introduce new Trump vintages in the near future. “Trump Winery branded wines will represent all the attributes with which the Trump name is synonymous — a best in class product of the highest quality that is executed perfectly.”
Trump Winery expects to participate in wine festivals, host wine tours, tastings and other special events.
