Trump to meet with congressmen in D.C. Monday

Donald Trump will meet with Republican congressional brass Monday in Washington, before speaking at the American Israeli Public Affairs Council conference.

Trump will meet with a “a group of nearly two dozen top Republicans,” at elite law firm Jones Day, the Washington Post reported.

“Mr. Trump is continuing his outreach to Washington and there has been an overwhelming positive response,” Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told the paper.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., a top Trump endorser, arranged the meeting. Sessions is only member of Congress attending the session who is identified in the report. This is the first time Trump has met with Republican lawmakers since the fall.

It comes as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who is competing with Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, struggles to line up support among congressional Republicans.
