Details on Trump’s health trickle out

Details leaked out Wednesday about Donald Trump’s health, the day before the Republican presidential nominee will appear on the “Dr. Oz Show” to discuss the results of a recent physical exam.

During the television show, the two men may discuss Trump’s weight, which is reported to be 267 pounds, that he takes cholesterol medication, and other medical indicators revealed from what the show described as a “full review” of Trump’s body systems.

According to a transcript released by the show, which was pre-taped Wednesday, Oz asks the 70-year-old, “Why not share your medical records? Why not let people see?”

“Well, I really have no problem in doing it. I have it right here. Should I do it? I don’t care. Should I do it? It’s two letters. One is the report and the other is from Lenox Hill Hospital,” Trump responds.

“May I see them?” Oz asks.

“Yeah, sure,” Trump replies. “Those were all the tests that were just done last week.”

Trump says the exam was performed by Dr. Harold Bornstein, the doctor who previously said Trump would be “the healthiest president ever” in a four-paragraph letter attesting to his health.

Bornstein examined many of Trump’s body systems, including his nervous, cardiovascular and respiratory systems along with his head, neck, prostate, bladder and hormone levels, according to the “Dr. Oz Show.” Bornstein also took note of Trump’s family medical history, including any history of cancer, the release says.

During the hour-long interview, airing at 1 p.m., Trump will “discuss his personal health, his views on major healthcare policy including their recently announced child care plan and the major health issues facing this country,” the show said.

The show will contain some other positive and negative details about Trump’s health, according to NBC News.

Upon learning of his 267-pound weight, Oz declared him to be “slightly overweight.” The report also will show that Trump’s father had Alzheimer’s disease. But on the flip side, Trump shows no evidence of any previous heart attacks, has a normal echocardiogram and has kept his blood pressure low.

Trump had scheduled the interview with the celebrity doctor on Friday, before the health of both presidential candidates came under the spotlight when opponent Hillary Clinton admitted to having a case of pneumonia. Clinton’s campaign released a letter Wednesday from her doctor, confirming she has been diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia but is an otherwise healthy 68-year-old woman with low cholesterol.
