Phil Robertson, a reality television star from the show “Duck Dynasty,” has endorsed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for president. Cruz’s campaign released a video of Robertson making the endorsement on Wednesday, which also features Cruz and Robertson firing guns.
“I’ve looked at the candidates, Ted Cruz is my man,” Robertson says in the video. “He fits the bill. He’s godly. He loves us. He’s the man for the job and he will go duck hunting.”
While other members of the “Duck Dynasty” cast previously backed Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who has since quit the 2016 presidential race, and shown support for Donald Trump, Robertson has thrown his support behind Cruz. Robertson has emerged as a popular figure among right-leaning individuals and has made buzz-worthy appearances at CPAC, a large gathering of conservative activists from around the country.
Cruz ranks second in the Washington Examiner‘s newest GOP presidential power rankings.
