$100,000: Amount that filmmaker Steven Spielberg donated to Priorities USA Action, the Super PAC launched by a couple of President Obama‘s former aides that also reported raising $1.2 million in the last half of 2011. But Spielberg isn’t the only Hollywood heavy-hitter writing checks to reelect the president. Jeffrey Katzenberg, Spielberg’s partner in DreamWorks, donated $2 million to Priorities USA Action in 2011, making him their biggest single donor. Meanwhile, Majority PAC — a committee pledging to retain Democratic control of the Senate — has collected thousands from other film industry insiders, including $2,500 from Peg Yorkin, $10,000 from Leo Hindery, $5,000 from Rob Reiner and $25,000 from Corky Stoller.
