Wounded Giffords aide running for her seat

A Gabrielle Giffords aide who was also wounded in last year’s Tuscon shooting will run for her Congressional seat in a special election, the Associated Press reported Thursday. Giffords’ former District Director Ron Barber was shot in the leg and the face last January, alongside his boss, who stepped down from Congress last month to continued on with her recovery. As of now, it looks like Barber will only run to fill her seat in the interim and not run in November’s general election. The special election primary is slated for April 17, with the general scheduled for June 12.
