CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Actress Rosario Dawson took up a protest sign and chant of “No Papers, No Fear” at a pro-immigrant protest that just happened to be going outside her own event, a Voto Latino panel discussion, Tuesday afternoon.
The actress and Voto Latino chairwoman snaked her way through the crowd and was thrown a long and skinny sign that read “Undocumented” that she proudly held high. “You should not be afraid even though you’re undocumented,” she said at one point, when handed the megaphone, while also engaging in chants like “education, not deportation.” After about 10 minutes she and her entourage slinked back through the crowd and returned to their event venue.
