Wu presents some explanations for weird behavior

Ambien plus Valium seem to be Rep. David Wu‘s recipe for disaster, but that’s only part of the equation. The Democratic Congressman from Oregon, who is being asked by some to resign his post, discussed some of the reasons for his recent erratic behavior with the Associated Press, which included dressing up in a tiger costume and e-mailing the photos to staffers.

In the past, Wu revealed that he had been hospitalized for a reaction to a mix of Ambien and generic Valium, according to his spokesman. Wu said doctors discovered he had an allergy to one of the enzymes in a commonly prescribed mental health drug. Even though he knew he was allergic to some prescription drugs, he admitted to taking two tablets of painkiller from a campaign donor in 2010.

That all being said, Wu mainly attributed his recent episodes to campaign stress, his dissolving marriage and raising his two children.
