Chuck Norris is (roundhouse) kicking his way back into politics.
The actor and martial artist appears in a new video for the NRA Freedom Action Foundation touting the organization’s Trigger the Vote campaign. Norris encourages a roomful of folks — outfitted in denim, bandanas and cowboy boots and participating in a “Find Your Inner ‘Norris’ ” class — to exercise their constitutional rights. After a group leader suggests ridiculous ways for what to do when “these politicians come take away your rights and freedoms,” enter … Chuck Norris.
“Folks, there’s only one way to protect our rights,” Norris says, “Register to vote.”
This isn’t the first time Norris has used his folksy appeal to send out a political message. Back in the 2007 presidential primaries, Norris entered the political debate by backing former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. While Norris used campaign talking points in their joint video entitled “HuckChuckFacts,” Huckabee had more colorful things to say.
“There’s no chin behind Chuck Norris’ beard, only another fist,” the Republican candidate proclaimed.
“Chuck Norris doesn’t endorse, he tells America how it’s going to be,” Huckabee added.
