Hillary Clinton held a 46-point national advantage over Bernie Sanders in June. Now, that advantage is only 12 points. For Clinton, the African-American voting bloc has been her “firewall” of sorts, but there are signs that this line of defense may not be a reliable safety net.

Experience and foreign policy were the themes Clinton echoed in her final prime-time pitch to Iowa voters. Still, voters the Washington Examiner spoke with expressed a lack of trust in the former secretary of state. Many young voters who heard former Gov. Martin O’Malley, D-Md., for the first time were attracted to his stance on climate change.
