Michelle Rhee sour at ‘Superman’

In her first red carpet appearance since Mayor Adrian Fenty lost the primary, D.C. public schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee stepped out (with a bit of an attitude) for the private screening of Davis Guggenheim‘s new film, “Waiting for Superman.” She kept her fiance, Sacramento, Calif., Mayor Kevin Johnson, close by her side while she dodged our questions about Fenty’s loss and her wedding plans.

Sens. Chris Dodd, D-Conn.; Al Franken, D-Minn.; and studly Scott Brown, R-Mass., showed up for the premiere. We also spotted actress Elisabeth Shue, singer John Legend and MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.

A Yeas & Nays spy tells us Rhee and Johnson ate dinner at Susur Lee‘s Zentan before heading to the event.

“Waiting for Superman” was produced in association with Philip Anschutz‘s Walden Media. Anschutz also owns The Washington Examiner.
