$294.21 million: What Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, is worth, according to the latest list from Roll Call of the nation’s richest lawmakers. McCaul ranked fifth on last year’s list, as his balance sheet “exploded” in 2009, more than doubling his minimum net worth in that time.
Coming in second this year is Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., whose assets (minus liabilities) equal $220.4 million, and third is Sen. John Kerry with a balance of $193.07 million — more than twice the $81.63 million that Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-WV, has on the books.
