D.C. loves Snooki, but doesn’t look like her

It sounded like a great idea in theory. Have “Jersey Shore’s” Snooki judge a look-alike contest at the Washington Auto Show as part of her appearance there. But sadly not many area girls got the memo. Only nine “Snookis” appeared on stage with the starlet, and some of the girls were simply grabbed from the audience because they were petite and brunette. The winner, Mallory Biazzo of Ashburn, was crowned because she brought blinged-out sunglasses like Snooki’s and also wore the proper footwear, Barbie-pink furry slippers.

That being said, the Washington crowd was still super enthusiastic for the “Jersey Shore” star’s Monday night appearance at the Washington Convention Center. The line to get autographs stretched back so far that one show worker estimated that it was the length of five football fields.

“I’m very excited to be here,” Snooki said. “I’m very upset that my dad couldn’t come, because my dad is obsessed with cars, so he kind of got me into cars and you guys are great, you all came out to see me, thanks for coming and I love you guys,” she continued in one gulp.

Other than the Auto Show, Snooki didn’t do much in the District. We hear she didn’t go out on the town and she didn’t meet with her Twitter buddy Sen. John McCain. She did, however, run into Sen. Chuck Schumer at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

“Snooki, Sen. Schumer’s waiting for you,” a photographer suggested to Snooki as she was swarmed by paparazzi and fans. Schumer waved to her and stuck around to answer a few questions posed by a paparazzo, including whether or not he thought the “Jersey Shore” cast should head to Italy for Season 4. “I’d rather they film it in New York,” the senator said, on a video first posted on Celebrity-Newz.com.

Once Schumer left, Snooki finally acknowledged that her senator had been there. “Really?” she said, looking like she couldn’t care less.
