Sen. Marco Rubio revealed Thursday that his campaign raised $6 million in the third quarter, a downturn for the candidate who has seen a spike in the polls since the second GOP debate last month.
The news comes after Rubio posted a $9 million haul during the first three months of his campaign after his announcement in mid-April. In all, Rubio has raised $18 million after having transferred $3 million from his Senate campaign account, and has $11 million in cash-on-hand.
Rubio made the revelation to donors at an event in Las Vegas on Thursday night, where the Florida senator is campaigning this weekend.
While Rubio’s fundraising figure was not the highest, he continues to climb in the latest GOP polls, with him sitting fourth according to the RealClearPolitics national average with nearly 10 percent support. He is fourth in the Washington Examiner‘s power rankings.
The Florida senator was among the first to announce his figure, with Ben Carson raking in over $20 million, Sen. Ted Cruz raising $12.2 million and Sen. Rand Paul only pulling in $2.5 million.
