Which GOP presidential candidate would Hillary pick for veep?

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow asked Hillary Clinton which of the Republican presidential candidates she would name as her running mate if a national crisis necessitated a bipartisan unity ticket.

The host, moderating the Democratic presidential forum in South Carolina, stipulated that Clinton had to pick only from the current GOP presidential field. Clinton declined to name one.

Maddow told Clinton she couldn’t dodge the question. The Democratic front-runner and former secretary of state joked that she would hurt whomever she named. Maddow told her that she could use that strategically for her benefit.

Ultimately, however, Clinton took a mulligan.

“I could pick a Republican,” she said, “but none of them.”
