President Obama was on hand for his niece’s first-round NCAA tournament basketball game in College Park, Md., Saturday.
Obama was in the stands as undefeated Princeton, an eight seed, took on University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, a nine seed.
Leslie Robinson, the niece of Barack and Michelle Obama, is a freshman forward for the Princeton team.
Obama could be seen in the stands with Craig Robinson, Leslie’s father and Michelle’s brother. Craig Robinson, currently an analyst for ESPN, is the former coach of the Oregon State men’s team and himself played for Princeton in college.
The first lady was not in attendance for the game, which was broadcast nationally on ESPN2, as she has been visiting Cambodia on a mission to promote international girls’ education.
The winner of Saturday’s game would face the winner of the game between top-seeded Maryland and New Mexico State later Saturday afternoon.
