Ebola patient discharged from Maryland facility

An unidentified healthcare worker was able to beat the deadly Ebola virus after contracting it during volunteer work at Sierra Leone.

The worker was being treated at the National Institutes of Health’s Bethesda, Md., facility but has now been discharged and is free of the virus, according to the aid group Partners in Health, who the worker was volunteering for.

The worker had been at NIH since March 13.

About 15 healthcare workers who came in contact with the aid worker were also evacuated from West Africa to be monitored for signs of the disease. So far none have.
