Speakeasy: Jill on Joe and 2016

I never say no to anything, but who knows? I mean — right now — really, our focus is getting Barack re-elected and so that’s what we’re working hard on … I think Joe would be a great president and his priorities are my priorities, and the one reason I encouraged him to run last time was to get out of Iraq. And that meant so much to me having a son who was deployed and so now my dream has come true.”

Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, in an interview with iVillage this week where she discusses her personal commitment to helping veterans returning from deployments in Iraq, some of her family’s Christmas traditions, and her husband’s chances at running for president in 2016. When asked what she thought Joe would focus on if weighing another presidential run, she said, “I guess it would be to continue a lot of what Barack has started — and what they’ve started together — so maybe to have that continuity. If things are moving in a positive direction, then why not?”
