Liquid courage
Early Tuesday evening at the National Press Club, the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States got election night started off right for its guests — with several shots of bourbon.
On hand was Jimmy Russell, the legendary master distiller at Wild Turkey, who walked guests through his portfolio.
“I’ve got the greatest job in the world,” he said. “I get to taste bourbon all day, then go home and have a drink.”
But, he added jokingly, “I’m a Southern Baptist, so I keep it for medicinal purposes only.”
